Clint & Penny Bragg learned the hard way that even strong Christians can have weak marriages. They are "marriage missionaries"—traveling to churches to help leaders connect the ministry of reconciliation to the hurting marriages in churches across the country. In this clip, from an interview with Building Church Leaders, they explore the epidemic of divorces in American churches, the importance of building a culture of reconciliation, and why living life with no margins for error can be a disaster for church leaders.

I really enjoy learning about how to keep marriages together. I love my husband and want to be able to remain married until death do us part. I don't think we can ever stop learning and refreshing our marriages.

It is true these days the marriges are in churches are not moving on well. People are devocing every day. There is know love and faith in marriges now. I think that program will help them so much to improve on there marriges. Men are loving women out marrige and women are very bitter about it know forgiving hearts in between, so they end up separating which is not biblical. Please try to give them giudance by the word of God teach them how to pray fast forgive one another. By doing so i think they will come to understand that it was the last of the flesh. Women should respect their husbands and husband should love thier wivies. Both of them should have very strong good communication if communication between them is not good they can not stay in peace.

One of the ways in which leaders can strenghten the marriages in their church is by sharing openly about their own struggles, past and present, so that the members of the congregation can see that marriage is something you work at all the time, that they grow better with time, but that they are never "finished", a work-in-progress. This assumes that indeed the leaders and their spouses have a relatively healthy marriage, are committed to working on their marriage as a way of growing in Christ, and that the problems they are working on are appropriate for sharing publicly.
