I encourage all church leaders to have at least a few trusted comrades-in-arms with whom they can share anything that is going on in their lives. One of Satan's weapons involves isolating Christian leaders. In 30 years of Christian leadership, there has been nothing more strengthening for me in times of warfare and difficulty than having Christian brothers to whom I could run to for prayer, encouragement, and counsel.

I've also found that, even in times of profound attack, God grants grace for ministry. Thus, even while my family underwent severe trials, God continued to draw people to himself through the preached Word, and God continued to build and bless the church.

But as my wife and I went through severe warfare, we were able to continue on in ministry only because of the incredible support of brothers and sisters with whom we could openly share our wounds.

Call him on it In LOVE! If you have a board allow them to handle this do not allow Satan a foot hold here in this leader's life. There may be circumstances that are happening that he needs to have mercy on and to be worked through but do not allow him to ruin his witness.

I'm just trying to get my pastor to surround herself with a few trusted confidants. I've tried for months, even years.

I believe that Matthew 18 applies here as well as in any situation. Not keeping our word is a sin and even more serious is the deception. Whatever your Church governmental structure is, the leader needs to be confronted by other leaders and then take it to the Church if he fails to comply, just as Jesus said. Whatever the Church agrees on will become binding in Heaven. If it was a sexual sin would you handle it any differently?

I clicked on this question because I spoke to a Minister who was upset because none of the other ministers called to check on her when she was ill. The importance of fighting in spiritual warfare with increased and frequent communication seemed to be a victorious outcome. She told one person and asumed the church would get the message. I now see the importance of more than one way to communicate and to use technology to the benefit of believers.

How do you confront a head leader who has borrowed money from the church, committed to paying it back at a set time and did not follow through? And is now appearing shady because he does not want to address it?
