To what extent should churches adjust their plans for worship in the event of a local or national tragedy? How can it be done well?

Too many churches ignore tragedies altogether, as if the Bible doesn't address them

I guess I'll go first. I'm from the northern suburbs of Chicago. A number of our churches out here reached out to the campus of NIU when a shooting recently took place at that campus. Even though I didn't know anybody involved, I was proud when mychurch prayed for the grieving people in our community. We should acknowledge these events as much as we can. This is true especially when they happen close to home.
