Well done and thought-provoking, but McLaren's "definition" of worship still keeps it inside the walls of the church. Worship is not just what we do, it is how we live. I would encourage all who desire to truly worship God in Spirit and Truth to revisit and live with Micah 6:6-8. I would also recommend the recent work on the subject of worship by Mark Labberton.

Sometimes, situations in life can sometimes make us question if God is truly real but even in these most difficult times it is when a Christian really realizes that God is more human feeling than anyone can ever understand. A relationship with Christ can sometimes mean that we feel too and that we may not always understand why God does what He does. All in all, in the end, we realize that God does everything according to His will so that we can get closer to His true personality. Praise be to the Lord Almighty!
